At all times, we do whatever we can to protect the privacy of the users of this service. XS2Mail will never give any information about any user to third parties without receiving permission of that particular user or being ordered to do so by a court of law.
To use our basic service, registration is not required. Therefore, we do not receive any personal information of the users that use our basic service. To use our Premium Service, some information of our users will be necessary, such as name and account.
During a session, some information (username and password) and files (such as attachments) are stored temporarly on our server. This is unavoidable. This information will always be deleted when you log out and after a period of inactivity.
The following information is stored:
- Permanently: Hostname of mailserver; username; your preferences; security relevant information, such as number of mails sent in the last day, last logon date
- Temporarly: Password; some attachments of received mail and of mail being composed.
Futhermore, the webserver logs the usual information about all requests, such as date/time, IP address, browser information and requested URL.
Our webserver gives out exactly one "session" cookie to identify the users currently using the service. This method is required, because the server could otherwise not see what user belongs to what account. When you exit your browser, the cookie will be deleted.
XS2Mail allows you to change several settings to your liking in the Preferences area. We will periodically remove preferences when you have not accessed your account for a couple of months. If, for whatever reason, you want us to remove your preferences, please contact us.
We may monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us design and develop our services, to better serve our customers. We may also use the information to prevent abuse of our service. We will never keep track of individual user's usage statistics. At no cost will we send e-mail to our users that have not explicitly asked us to do so. To inform you about changes in XS2Mail, we will always use our website.
It is possible to use SSL to access our service. This secure socket layer encrypts all data that your browser sends to us and all data that we send to you. We will do whatever we can to protect the stored data against unauthorized access.
